The Hotel Chemin has a charming old-world feel that draws you in right away. The historical building, established in 1905, really adds character to the experience. I enjoyed the spaciousness of my Standard Double Room, although the decor is definitely showing its age. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I appreciated having hot water in the shower. Breakfast each morning was delightful, with a good selection of options, making it a pleasant start to the day. The location is quite convenient, just a block from the SUBTE, allowing easy access to major attractions. However, I faced a few inconveniences. There were issues with cleaning upon arrival. I found long hairs on the floor and leftover items from previous guests, which was off-putting. Additionally, the staff seemed preoccupied, missing opportunities to help more actively. Lastly, the bathroom felt cramped and old, which detracted from the comfort.

Slept well despite being next to a busy road. it wasn’t too loud. Appreciated the proximity to good bars at the end of the street.
The street has a seedy vibe with many empty buildings, which is a letdown. Issues with cleaning on arrival. found long hairs and leftover items from previous guests. Towels were missing initially, and during the second day, staff took away all used and unused pieces.

elegant room decor, functional 1920s elevator, small balcony
Access to the building requires a main key, which can be annoying!!! The immediate street had a seedy vibe and the sign for the hotel is ridiculously small!!! Common areas lacked air conditioning, leaving them uncomfortably warm!!!

Charming character and helpful staff
I stayed for a few nights in a beautiful room with vintage decor that truly captures the essence of Buenos Aires. The space felt cozy, and having a large safe in the room was a bonus. The staff were especially accommodating, ensuring I had hot water for tea whenever I needed it. However, the breakfast options could be improved as they weren’t very varied.

Loved the beautiful vintage decor and the spacious Double Room with Garden View. Super comfy bed and great air conditioning. The bathroom had a nice clawfoot tub. Staff were polite and really helped us find a tango show. Breakfast was top-notch with made-to-order eggs and fresh fruit. Such a great stay!
